Film and Video Transfers
In addition to our amazing retail collection HFT offers in house transfer services for film (8mm and 16mm) and video. Lots of services are out there that can do this, and if you are OK with OK results they are fine but HFT does not stop at OK. We go beyond simple transfers and offer restoration of bad media as well as improving low res or damaged transfers through the use of AI. Film and video transfers make a great gift!

What do transfer services cost?
We consider every job to be custom so we don’t operate on a “price per tape” policy.
In many cases jobs involve a number of different sources (eg mutliple VHS tapes) and multiple media (eg VHS and 8mm films).
You may also decide that some material deserves extra processing (resolution enhancement) or we will inform you that some media requires restoration (such as cleaning / splicing).
Its sometimes easier to work from a budget and then prioritize the material.
We do offer bulk discounts and prices can vary based on type of delivery (DVDs, Digital on Cd or USB, Cloud Based) and number of physical copies

What media can you transfer?
Its probably easier to tell you what we can’t do which is basically 35mm film.
We also offer photo digitization. Do you have a stack of photo albums, tupperware containers full of random photos and shoeboxes of old family slides? We can take all of that, digitize it, make it better and deliver it back to you in any format you desire. We can even make slideshows of related material.
What makes you different?
Our work is done entirely in-house. Your materials never leave our facility and if desired never need to be mailed (you can drop off and pick up).
Large mail in services use automated equipment to perform transfers. Many of these are done using high speed equipment, and the end results are not even inspected by a human.
Our transfers are performed on professionally restored vintage equipment. We transfer film (literally) one frame at a time. All transfers are inspected and then put through post processing using the latest AI models (if desired)
