Playboy First Edition Dec 1953

$2,000.00

The very first copy that launched the Playboy empire, featuring a nude calendar photo of Marilyn Monroe, which she had previously posed for in 1949. Hugh borrowed $8000 to produce 50,000 of the first issue. It is not known how many are still intact.

Two distinguishing features are the lack of the “Rabbit” which would come into being on the second volume . And the fact there is no volume number or date since Hugh wasn’t sure there would be a second one or when.

You dont have to be a pinup collector to appreciate that this is a worthwhile investment as well as the ultimate man cave flex.

This copy has not been graded. All pages are intact, undamaged and the copy is in nice shape overall.
